Speaking on the occasion, MLA Dr. Tseilhoutuo Rhutso elaborated on the vision behind the CM-MOT initiative, stating that it was launched with the goal of bringing healthcare to the people’s doorstep. Noting that many patients in rural areas face financial constraints that prevented them from accessing necessary surgeries, he stated that the CM-MOT was conceived to bridge that gap by delivering essential surgical care to Nagaland’s rural and hard-to-reach communities.
Dr. Rhutso further informed that the CM-MOT stands as a model of unity, bringing together doctors and healthcare professionals from diverse tribes to serve with one spirit—demonstrating how collective effort could bring positive change to society.
C Tsalimse Sangtam, EAC of Longleng, has appreciated Dr. Rhutso and his team for providing the much-needed surgical services to the people of Longleng district, thereby ensuring that even those in remote areas could access specialised medical care locally.
Delivering the vote of thanks, YB Angam, president of PPC, has lauded the chief minister of Nagaland, Dr. Neiphiu Rio, for his innovative and visionary initiative to deliver urban healthcare facilities to rural areas through the CM-MOT programme. He stated that the chief minister had rightly chosen Dr. Rhutso to lead the mission. He has described Dr. Rhutso as one of Nagaland’s finest surgeons, who as both a doctor and a politician, has been reaching out to serve the people in remote villages.
Stating he had heard much about Dr. Rhutso and his hospital in Kohima, Angam said witnessing his work firsthand in Longleng and other districts was truly inspiring and a blessing for many, who otherwise could not avail surgical services. He further thanked Dr. Lanuakum and the staff of District Hospital Longleng for their coordination and support and also expressed gratitude to A Pongshi Phom, MLA of 50 Longleng Assembly Constituency, and his family for their warm hospitality towards the CM-MOT team during their two-day stay in the district.
The CM-MOT team was led by Dr. Tseilhoutuo Rhutso, MLA 9 Kohima Town Assembly Constituency, along with Dr. Keneihoulie Medom, anesthesiologist and managing director, Kohimas; Dr. Lanumeren, dental surgeon and private practitioner; Dr. Rovino, consultant laparoscopic surgeon, Kohimas; and Dr. Mhashe, senior surgeon at NIMSR, Kohima. They were assisted by OT nurses and technicians from Kohimas Hospital.
