DIMAPUR — The Changsang Range Student's Union (CRSU) has demanded the School Education department to initiate appropriate actions against Sometnaro, a primary teacher posted at GPS Nyinyem, Tuensang.

The union, in a representation to the Principal Director of School Education on Saturday, alleged that the incumbent teacher had not reported to school for the entire 2025 academic session, despite the school calendar nearing final exam preparations.

The CRSU highlighted that it had previously reported the matter to the Senior SDEO Tuensang on August 21, prompting an explanation notice dated August 22, and subsequently, the concerned teacher submitted an undertaking on September 10.

“But, the sequences seem to have taken place only between the office and the teacher in concern without any seriousness, as the incumbent has not reported to the school till date even after such deliberations and official complaints,” it stated.

The CRSU stated that this was not just a case of negligence of duty but also an attempt to destroy the academic career of innocent students studying in remote areas like Nyinyem village.

The union also asserted that it had taken serious note of the grave situation and decided to uphold the principle of justice for students by all means.

The union urged the higher authority to immediately initiate action against the teacher as per Government Service Rules and sanction an urgent replacement for the post before the completion of October 2025.
