DIMAPUR — Chandigarh wrapped up their group-stage campaign with a 3–0 victory over Jammu and Kashmir in match 18 of the ongoing Dr. T Ao Junior Girls National Football Championship 2025–26 (Tier II) in Chümoukedima on Saturday.

Despite the win, it proved insufficient for Chandigarh to secure a place in the semi-finals, stated an update.

The match unfolded with both teams demonstrating defensive organisation. Chandigarh held a slight edge in possession with 55%, while Jammu and Kashmir registered 45% possession.

While Chandigarh produced seven shots off target, the scoreboard remained unchanged. Jammu and Kashmir managed only two attempts on target. The first half ended goalless.

In the second half, Jammu and Kashmir received a penalty kick but failed to convert the chance. Chandigarh broke the deadlock when Kajal found space between defenders and scored in the 67th minute.

Seven minutes later, in the 74th minute, Alisha capitalised on a defensive lapse to score the second goal. Kajal scored her second goal in the 81st minute. Her brace cemented Chandigarh’s 3–0 lead.

Despite the win, the three points and goal difference were not enough to break into the top two, leaving the team short of the semi-final qualification zone.

Meanwhile, in the first semi-final, Uttar Pradesh will take on Assam on December 8 at 6:30 pm.
