KOHIMA — The second edition of the Chakhesang Veteran Badminton Tournament-cum-selection for the Inter-District Nagaland Veteran Badminton Tournament was held on Saturday at the Multi-Purpose Stadium, Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA), Kohima.
The tournament cum selection was organised by the Kohima Chakhesang Veteran Badminton Committee in collaboration with the Phek District Badminton Association and the Department of Social Welfare, Nagaland.

Earlier in the morning, before the commencement of the tournament, Vechiso, treasurer of the Kohima Chakhesang Veteran Badminton Committee, delivered the introductory note. He called for unity among the Chakhesang tribes and advised everyone to work for the common good of the Nagas at large.
An invocation prayer was offered by Rev. Dr. Kevekhalo Lasuh, senior pastor, CBCK. Vezuhu Keyho, president of the Chakhesang Public Organisation, declared the tournament open.
Later in the evening, Kelhikha Kenye, president of the Kohima Chakhesang Veteran Badminton Committee, presided over the prize distribution and tendered the vote of thanks.
The tournament drew 87 players from various places, bringing veteran players together, with Shevotso Nienu, aged 80, being the oldest participant.
In the 75+ category, Vezosu and Husazo were winners, with Veduzo and Mudozo as runners-up; in the 85+ category, Setichen and Solo won, while Muzivo and Mudozo were runners-up; in the 95+ category, Muzivo and Vevosa claimed victory, with Nuhutso and Netsozu as runners-up; and in the 105+ category, Weprepe and Netsozu were winners, with Vekhozo and Vevosa as runners-up.
