- DIMAPUR — Following
the expiry of 7-day ultimatum issued to the executive director of NHIDCL's
Kohima Regional Office, the Chakhesang Students' Union (CSU) has called for a
peaceful protest on May 10, starting at 10 am.
- The CSU had served an ultimatum to NHIDCL on May 2,
demanding immediate action on the Kohima-Jessami road (package 2), including
repairing potholes, clearing landslide debris for unhindered movement, and
round-the-clock maintenance.
- In a press release issued on Friday, the CSU informed that
the protest is being initiated to express the union’s “dismay and
dissatisfaction” with the NHIDC and the contractor concerned.
- “We earnestly appeal to the general public and all concerned
stakeholders to extend their support in any way or form, even if they are
unable to be physically present,” the release stated.
