The Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland, has launched the Special Intensive Revision of the electoral roll with October 1, 2026, as the qualifying date, alongside state-wide training and public assistance measures.
DIMAPUR — The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Nagaland, has informed that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll in the state, with October 1, 2026, as the qualifying date, is currently underway.
According to a DIPR report, various preparatory activities and capacity-building programmes are being conducted across the state to ensure the smooth and effective implementation of the revision exercise.
To facilitate the process, SIR Help Desks staffed by dedicated personnel have been set up in all District Election Offices.
Designated helpline numbers have also been made available to assist the public. The contact details of the Help Desks can be accessed on the Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland's website.
Citizens may also call the toll-free helpline 1950 for information and assistance related to the SIR.

The Chief Electoral Officer has conducted a series of meetings and training programmes for District Election Officers (DEOs), Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), representatives of recognised political parties and other stakeholders. Likewise, DEOs have organised meetings and training sessions for EROs, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), Booth Level Officer (BLO) Supervisors, BLOs, Booth Level Agents (BLAs) and other stakeholders in their respective districts.
The report stated that regular review meetings, interactions and monitoring of the progress of the SIR will continue at all levels to ensure the timely and effective completion of the revision process.
