Nagaland University organised a one-day training programme on artificial intelligence and multidisciplinary research at Lumami, encouraging students to embrace AI ethically and promote research and innovation.
DIMAPUR — A one-day training programme on artificial intelligence (AI) and multidisciplinary research was held at the Multidisciplinary Research Centre (MDRC), Nagaland University (NU), Lumami, on Friday.
The programme, titled "Igniting young minds: A training programme on artificial intelligence and multidisciplinary research," began with the felicitation of the chief guest, Nagaland University Vice-Chancellor Prof. JK Patnaik, an update from the university stated.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Patnaik highlighted the importance of education in Northeast India and underscored the role of the multidisciplinary research centre in promoting research and innovation.
He also encouraged students to make use of the SWAYAM platform for learning, skill development and enhancing their academic capabilities.
An expert lecture on "Artificial Intelligence" was delivered by Prof. Ambrish Singh, who stressed the responsible and ethical use of AI in everyday life.
He encouraged students to harness the technology as a tool for learning, research and innovation while exercising critical thinking and sound judgment.

The programme concluded on an inspiring note, motivating participants to explore the growing potential of artificial intelligence, engage in multidisciplinary research and pursue new opportunities for academic and professional development.
The inaugural session featured a welcome address by MDRC Coordinator Prof. Ambrish Singh.
The programme was chaired by Dr. Thejano, while Dr. Alka introduced the Multidisciplinary Research Centre. The event also included cultural performances, including a solo rap on women's safety and a group song.
