DIMAPUR — The Central Goods and Services Tax Commissionerate, Dimapur, on Friday conducted a GST outreach programme at the Whispering Winds Hotel in Mokokchung town, which was attended by officials from the State Taxes Department.
An update from the Commissionerate stated that the outreach programme was chaired by Jayavelu, assistant commissioner of CGST. The programme saw interaction of tax officials with the members of Mokokchung Chamber of Commerce and Industries led by its president, Tsukti Jamir, as well as some of the major taxpayers, traders, tax consultants and business owners from Mokokchung area.

It mentioned that after Dimapur, Kohima and Chumoukedima districts, Mokokchung district has the next highest number of GST taxpayers. The outreach programme witnessed active participation of local taxpayers, tax consultants and business owners.
It stated that the programme was conducted to offer practical guidance to enhance voluntary compliance. It further stated that CGST Dimapur Commissionerate has been conducting such outreach programmes on a regular basis for the benefit of local taxpayers and the business community.
Limanochet, Superintendent of CGST Mokokchung range, and V Khawbung, superintendent, were also present.
