NOKLAK — Advisor for Civil Administration Works Division (CAWD) Kudecho Khamo inspected ongoing construction works and infrastructure projects in Tuensang, Noklak, and Shamator on Thursday, stressing the need for quality construction and timely completion to strengthen administrative infrastructure in eastern Nagaland.
The inspection team was led by CAWD Assistant Chief Engineer Ketousielie Kenguruse and included Assistant Engineer P Chillia, among other officials.
In Tuensang, the team inspected the Village Guard (VG) Commandant's office, which comprises a basement, ground floor, and first floor.
The team also inspected the Deputy Commissioner's Office Complex, a G+2-storey building funded under the State Earmarked Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI). The complex will include parking facilities and provisions for persons with disabilities, including ramps and accessible toilets, alongside a conference hall with a seating capacity of 250 to 300 people.
Khamo urged the contractor to complete the DC Office Complex by early next year. Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Tuensang Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa also urged the contractor to expedite the work in view of the forthcoming inauguration of the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA) and the anticipated administrative and governance requirements.

In Noklak, the team inspected the ongoing construction of the District Court building, DC Office Complex, and General Administration (GA) Rest House.
The inspection was attended by DC Noklak P Mono Khiamniungan, Superintendent of Police Noklak Thepuzho Tunyi, and other administrative officers.
The DC Office Complex and District Court building at Noklak are being funded under SASCI and Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS).
In Shamator, the team was received by DC Arikumba, who highlighted the need for administrative infrastructure to facilitate the functioning of the district administration and accommodate dignitaries visiting the district headquarters. The team later visited the Village Guard Training Centre in Shamator.
During the inspections across the districts, Kenguruse highlighted the importance of ensuring construction quality and creating functional infrastructure to support public service delivery. He pointed out the need for contractors to expedite ongoing projects, citing the shortage of office buildings, general administration rest houses, and residential quarters for officers posted in the districts.
Khamo expressed concern over the slow pace of work at the DC Office Complex in Noklak and sought the cooperation of contractors to adhere to stipulated project timelines on all ongoing projects across the state.
Khamo noted that he had personally observed the poor condition of several government offices, staff quarters, and GA rest houses. He assured that he would take up the issues with the government to seek appropriate interventions, while acknowledging that several infrastructure projects were already underway.
The advisor also reviewed the infrastructure requirements of different administrative headquarters during the tour.
