- DIMAPUR — A
three-day youth conference organised by Catholic Youth Movement of St. Peter’s
Parish Kiphire (SPPK) on the theme “Rooted in faith, growing in love” concluded
on Sunday.
- An update from SPPK stated that around 200 youth from 9
villages and towns in Kiphire district participated in the conference. The
conference was held on the under the leadership of Ziroba Philip, youth
president and team.
- The highlights of the conference included talks, praise and
worship, candle-lit procession in honour of late Pontiff Pope Francis,
adoration, self-examination, reconciliation, Holy Eucharist and talents night.
- The event gave an opportunity to discover their uniqueness,
vitality, diverse in ethos and unity in transformation.

- An update SPPK stated that Rev. Fr. Thomas Toretkiu,
associate priest of St. John Church, Kiusam town, spoke on the importance of
maintaining healthy relationship with God, saying that ‘Our life is nourished
by prayer and strengthen by love.’
- “By baptism we are washed and cleanse; in confirmation we
are sealed with strong commitment; in reconciliation we seek for forgiveness;
in Eucharist, we share thanksgiving meal; In Matrimony and Holy Order, we live
our life in love and in anointing, we are sanctified to enter into the kingdom
of God,” Rev. Toretkiu said.
- Rev. Fr. Philip Magh, parish priest of St. Peter’s Parish,
Kiphire, and RY Moses, assistant professor at Zisaji Presidency College, Fr.
Philip, also spoke on the occasion.
- On the first day, Rev. Fr. Marius Patton, assistant priest,
said a prayer, while Ziroba Philip said the welcome address.
- It stated that Rev. Fr. Philip Magh has thanked the youth
president and team for organising the event. He also thanked the church members
for making the event a success.
