
A CPR training session during the second phase of the
Community First Responder Preparedness Programme, organised by Can Youth in
collaboration with the Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority in Dimapur
on April 7.
- DIMAPUR — Can Youth, in collaboration with the
Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), commenced the second
phase of the Community First Responder Preparedness Programme at the Rongmei
Customary Court in Chungaizaeng Colony, Burma Camp, Dimapur, on April 7.
- According to an update, the initiative aims to enhance
community resilience and empower the youth in disaster preparedness and
response. The first phase was launched on January 27 last, with Dr. Tinojongshi
Chang, Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of DDMA, as the special guest.
- The primary focus of the ongoing phase is equipping local
youth with the necessary skills and knowledge to act as first responders in
times of emergency. Topics covered will include basic first aid, search and
rescue operations, effective communication strategies, and the management of
essential relief supplies.
- The phase will continue until April 12, involving hands-on
exercises, simulations, and expert-led sessions aimed at creating a well-prepared
cohort of young leaders ready to step into action during any disaster.
- In addition to these core objectives, the ongoing
partnership between Can Youth and NSDMA also seeks to build stronger links
between community leaders, local authorities, and response teams.
