CAN Youth organises a workshop on child rights, mental health, and leadership for students at Livingstone Foundation International in Dimapur

DIMAPUR — CAN Youth conducted an experiential awareness and empowerment workshop for classes 11 and 12 Humanities students of Livingstone Foundation International at the school auditorium on May 18.
According to an update, the programme was organised at the invitation of the school and focused on child rights, anti-bullying, mental health and wellbeing, substance abuse prevention, youth leadership, peer responsibility, and the I CAN Youth Ambassador Initiative.
Through storytelling, experiential learning, activities, reflection exercises, and interactive discussions, the sessions encouraged students to become responsible young leaders and positive influencers within their schools, communities, and peer groups.
The first session on child rights was facilitated by Loza, Programme Manager for Enabling Wholistic Safety and Protection, DKA Austria, Prodigals' Home.

She provided an overview of the rights of children with special attention to the protection, dignity, care, and holistic development of vulnerable children. She also encouraged students to create safe environments and to speak up against abuse, discrimination, and injustice.
The second session was facilitated by Jenpu Rhakho Rongmei, Founder and Chief Functionary of CAN Youth, who addressed anti-bullying, mental health, and substance abuse.
He highlighted the harmful effects of bullying on students’ emotional and academic wellbeing and spoke extensively on the serious consequences of substance abuse on health, behaviour, relationships, and future opportunities.
The I CAN Youth Ambassador Initiative session was led by Nuye Nyekha, Programme Manager of CAN Youth, who inspired students to believe in their ability to create positive change through leadership, volunteerism, and community action.
She encouraged the students to become ambassadors of hope and responsibility and to recognise their potential to lead, support one another, serve as youth ambassadors, and become changemakers who contribute positively to their schools, communities, and society.
