Chakhro Angami Kuda Union and Chakhroma Public Organisation condemn February 13 incident at Maova village.

DIMAPUR — The Chakhro Angami Kuda Union (CAKU) and Chakhroma Public Organisation (CPO) Medziphema Circle have condemned of the incident that took place on February 13 at Maova village, Chümoukedima district.
In a press release, the CAKU condemned the alleged manhandling of CPO members including its president by Maova villagers.
“CAKU will not tolerate the insolence of the Maova village and would like to remind them to reflect on the benevolence of Chakhromas shown towards them in the past.
“CAKU informs that it will abide and follow whatever steps CPO deem fit and necessary. CAKU also would like to take this opportunity to wish speedy recovery to EAC Medziphema, the injured IRB personnel and the injured CYO volunteers,” it stated.

In a separate statement, the CPO Medziphema Circle stated that the actions carried out by certain Maova village youths under the supervision of the village council chairman and gaon bura were “completely unacceptable, disgraceful and contrary to all standards of decency and ethical conduct.”
It stated that such behaviour not only caused “immediate harm to our leaders but also undermines the core values of our community which are founded on mutual respect, unity and integrity.”
The CPO unit stated that it would not, under any circumstances, tolerate or justify the violence and the alleged premeditated attack on its leaders, who had visited the village in goodwill and in the spirit of cooperation.
“Furthermore, the CPO Medziphema Circle also strongly condemns the injuries inflicted upon the EAC, Medziphema sub-division, and IRB personnel who had arrived at the scene with the sole intention of pacifying the situation and maintaining peace.
It urged every Naga to work collectively towards eradicating such evil elements from Naga society for a secure and better future for the generations to come.
