BSF personnel deployed in Manipur on Tuesday voluntarily donate blood to strengthen blood reserves of the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences.

IMPHAL — A total of 200 officers and jawans of the Border Security Force (BSF) deployed in Manipur on Tuesday voluntarily donated blood, significantly strengthening the reserves of the hospital of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), a premier medical institute in Northeast India.
“The blood collected will be a vital lifeline for accident victims, patients in critical conditions, and those undergoing major surgeries across the state,” stated a press release issued by PRO, Frontier Headquarters BSF (Mizoram & Cachar).
“This humanitarian effort highlights the BSF’s ethos of ‘Jeevan Paryant Kartavya’ (Duty unto death) and its continuous efforts to strengthen the bond of trust and cooperation with the people of Manipur. Beyond securing the nation’s borders, the BSF remains committed to initiatives that directly support and uplift local communities.”

On the occasion of the mega blood donation camp, DIG Dipakar Shah of BSF Sector Manipur, stated that “each unit of blood donated today is a gift of life. We are proud of our personnel for their selfless participation.”
The blood camp held at the BSF Camp Koirengei in the outskirts of Imphal under the overall supervision of Inspector General Ravi Kant of BSF Headquarters BSF (Mizoram & Cachar), saw enthusiastic participation from BSF personnel across all ranks.
