KOHIMA — A team of 11 Naga delegates from Manipur, led by United Naga Council (UNC) president Ng Lorho, is scheduled to meet officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in New Delhi on Tuesday, August 26, to discuss the scrapping of Free Movement Regime (FMR) and the proposed border fencing in Naga areas.
Lorho confirmed that the meeting is slated for 11 am on Tuesday. It may be mentioned that the MHA’s invitation was sent by its advisor (North East), AK Mishra, on August 20, addressed to the UNC president.
The invitation followed a joint memorandum submitted to the Centre through the Manipur governor by the UNC and other Naga organisations on July 22, demanding an immediate halt to the fencing plan.
