IMPHAL — Additional Director General (ADG) of Border Security Force (BSF), Eastern Command, Kolkata, Mahesh Kumar Aggarwal, conducted a two-day visit to Manipur to assess the prevailing security situation in the state and review the operational preparedness of the BSF companies deployed in the violence-affected North Eastern state.


According to BSF officials, Aggarwal was received by Inspector General Ravi Kant of BSF (M&C Frontier) and other senior BSF officers on his arrival at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport in Imphal on August 1.


Later, Aggarwal, accompanied by Ravi Kant, paid a courtesy visit to Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, followed by meetings with State Security Advisor Kuldiep Singh and Manipur DGP Rajiv Singh.


Further, during the day, the ADG visited various BSF locations in Thoubal district, and interacted with commanders and troops deployed at various locations in the district.

On August 2, the ADG along with other senior officers visited various BSF locations in Bishnupur and Churachandpur districts.


During his visit to Churachandpur, ADG Aggarwal inspected the Subsidiary Training Centre and addressed a Sainik Sammelan, interacting with officers and troops.


Before departing for Kolkata on Sunday, the BSF ADG interacted with officers and troops, emphasising the importance of dedication and professionalism in maintaining law and order in Manipur.


It may be noted that Aggarwal's visit came a day after country's Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi undertook a day-long visit to Manipur to review the prevailing security situation and operational readiness of the Indian Army and Assam Rifles formations deployed in the state.
