DIMAPUR — The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), Nagaland, is all set to organise the 16-day Seva Pakhwada campaign starting from September 17 till October 2nd to mark the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

This was informed during a press conference at the BJP office, Dimapur, on Tuesday by the Nagaland state BJP General Secretary, Manai Konyak, who outlined a series of activities planned across the state during the campaign period.

The programme will be inaugurated with a blood donation drive on September 17 in Dimapur, Kohima, and Mokokchung districts. Unlike previous years, this year’s donations will be digitally recorded through a portal linked to the PM’s office to ensure transparency in participation.

From September 17 to the 25th, health camps will be organised in Dimapur, Wokha, and Phek districts. On September 19 and 20, an exhibition and address on “Develop India” will be held alongside the distribution of books authored by the prime minister.

September 25 will see state-wide tree plantation drives across all 14 districts, led by the BJP Kisan Morcha. The day will also include a programme commemorating BJP’s founding leader Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya. On September 27, BJYM will host a felicitation programme to honour eminent personalities of Nagaland and persons with disabilities.

The campaign will conclude on October 2 with a mass cleanliness drive across all 60 mandals, followed by tributes to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri at Khadi House, Burma Camp.

As part of the Seva Pakhwada, BJYM has also scheduled a marathon, Run for a Drug-Free Nagaland, on September 20 in Dimapur.

BJYM president Khekato informed that more than 1,700 participants have already registered online, with ages ranging from 13 to 65 years. The marathon will flag off from Dimapur Government College playground, pass through Clock Tower and Khermahal, and conclude at DDSC Stadium.

Cash prizes, medals, and certificates will be awarded to winners, while all registered participants will receive certificates and t-shirts. The event’s brand ambassador has been announced as Laimong Konyak, a celebrated footballer from Nagaland who has played in the I-League.

BJYM leaders expressed optimism that the marathon will create greater awareness against drug abuse, particularly among youth, while strengthening the spirit of Fit India. They also urged students and colleges to complete their registrations online to streamline participation and distribution of t-shirts and certificates.
