DIMAPUR — The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) Nagaland has criticised the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) over its comparison between the AI Impact Summit 2026 and the Commonwealth Games 2010, terming the remarks politically motivated.
In a statement, BJYM Nagaland said the AI Impact Summit 2026 marked an important development in India’s position in Artificial Intelligence.
It stated that the summit saw participation from 118 countries, over 20 heads of governments, and more than five lakh attendees. According to the organisation, the event secured infrastructure investment pledges exceeding USD 250 billion and approximately USD 20 billion in deep-tech venture commitments.

Describing the comparison as inappropriate, BJYM Nagaland stated that the Commonwealth Games 2010 had faced criticism over issues of corruption and mismanagement. It said drawing parallels between the sporting event and a global technology summit was not justified.
The organisation also referred to a shirtless protest staged on an international platform, stating that such actions were not in keeping with the spirit of a forum intended for global cooperation, innovation, and inclusive growth. BJYM Nagaland maintained that while democracy guarantees the right to protest, it also calls for responsibility.
BJYM Nagaland urged the Congress leadership to encourage constructive political engagement. It further stated that national platforms representing India’s progress should rise above partisan politics and emphasised the need for unity.
