
Ex-servicemen, Assam Rifles personnel, NCC cadets, students,
tribal organisations, and citizens march with national flags during the Tiranga
Yatra in Mokokchung on Saturday.
- MOKOKCHUNG — A Tiranga Yatra was held in
Mokokchung town on Saturday, drawing over 700 participants to honour India’s
armed forces and commemorate the strategic success of Operation Sindoor.
- Jointly organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)
Mokokchung and the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) Mokokchung,
the yatra was flagged off at Imkongmeren Sports Complex and concluded at Town
Square (Police Point).
- It saw ex-servicemen, Assam Rifles personnel, National Cadet
Corps (NCC) cadets, students, tribal organisations, and citizens march with
national flags, slogans, and in traditional attire.
- Rev. Wati, associate pastor of Mokokchung Town Baptist
Church, opened the event with a prayer, while the Assam Rifles’ 12th Battalion
band led the procession.
- Imkong L Imchen, MLA and Advisor for IPR and Soil and Water
Conservation, praised the event’s unity and patriotism, as well as the BJP-NDPP
partnership. He said their coalition’s harmonious relationship had made the event
a success and reflected their commitment to political action.

strengthen patriotism, pay tribute to the armed forces, and foster community
collaboration.
