Bhandari SDPDB meeting reviews heavy vehicle restrictions on Foothill Road, smart meter installation, and Census preparations.

DIMAPUR — Additional Deputy Commissioner of Bhandari, Longasen Lotha, has called for the full cooperation and participation of officers to ensure an accurate Census exercise.
He was speaking while chairing the monthly Sub-Divisional Planning and Development Board (SDPDB) meeting of the Bhandari sub-division, held at the conference hall of the Summer House-cum-Guest House on Wednesday.
According to a DIPR report, welcoming the members present, the ADC reviewed the agenda of the previous meeting and apprised the house that restrictions imposed on the movement of heavy vehicles along the Foothill Road under the Bhandari sub-division have been successful and will be extended by another ten days to enable smooth construction work.

Junior Engineer of Power in Bhandari, Mhaden Murry, informed that the phase-wise installation of post-paid smart meters has started. This will cover government offices and quarters in the first phase, followed by industries and commerce in the second phase. Domestic installations will be initiated after public sensitisation.
Speaking on the upcoming Census exercise, slated from July 2026 to February 2027, the ADC asked the officers to be prepared to fully cooperate and participate in different roles to achieve accurate data on household listing and demographic reporting in both the first and second phases of the exercise.
