Benjamin Yepthomi filing his nomination for the post of
Nagaland BJP President on Monday.
KOHIMA — After much speculation the identity
of the next president of Nagaland BJP, the matter has now been settled.
Sources from the party informed that the incumbent
president, Benjamin Yepthomi, has been retained in the position and will
continue to serve in the role. The latest tenure will run from 2025 to 2028.
Yepthomi was initially appointed as the state BJP president
on September 26, 2023, succeeding former president Temjen Imna Along.
According to sources, the nomination process for the post of
state president was conducted on Monday in Dimapur in the presence of V
Muraleedharan, National Returning Officer, along with State Council Members,
the State Returning Officer, and party woprkers. Yepthomi emerged as the sole
candidate to file a nomination for the position.
Meanwhile, the official declaration programme for the state
BJP president is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, January 21, at the State
BJP Head Office in Kohima.
Earlier, on January 7, the State Council Members for the
tenure 2025-28 were appointed and the district presidents were also appointed.
