Axis Bank has opened a new branch at Chunlikha in Tseminyu district to expand banking access and financial inclusion.

DIMAPUR — Deputy Commissioner of Tseminyu, Japheth Woch, on Friday inaugurated the Axis Bank branch at Chunlikha in Tseminyu district.
Speaking at the inaugural programme, Woch thanked Axis Bank for opening the branch under the directives of the Department of Financial Services (DFS) and the state government, an update stated.
He said the new branch was a significant achievement for Chunlikha block, as it would enable residents to access a wide range of banking services, including savings accounts, digital banking, loan facilities, and various government-sponsored schemes such as the Chief Minister's Micro Finance Initiative (CMMFI) and the Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP).
Emphasising the importance of financial independence, the deputy commissioner urged the public to make full use of the banking services and work closely with the district administration, village councils and the bank.
He also highlighted the vital role of banks in strengthening the district's economy by extending financial assistance to entrepreneurs, self-help groups (SHGs), students and individuals.
Woch appealed to the public to support Axis Bank and expressed hope that the bank would maintain close coordination with the district administration.
He assured all possible support for the smooth functioning of the branch.

Earlier, Chunlikha Village Council member Zukeya Woch briefed the gathering on the establishment of the branch under the initiative of the DFS and the state government.
Expressing gratitude to Axis Bank for fulfilling a long-standing need of the area, he assured the council's full cooperation for the growth and sustainability of the branch.
He also encouraged residents of all villages under Chunlikha block to avail themselves of the banking facilities offered by the bank.
Vice President and Cluster Head of Axis Bank's Dimapur Cluster, Poujaulung, said the Chunlikha branch had been opened under the unbanked block initiative as per the directives of the DFS and the state government.
He informed that Axis Bank currently operates 18 branches and 25 ATMs across eight districts of Nagaland.
He added that the Chunlikha branch is a full-fledged banking outlet equipped to provide comprehensive banking services while also promoting financial literacy among the people of Chunlikha Block under Tseminyu district.
