DIMAPUR — An awareness programme on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was held at Sainik School, Punglwa, on Monday.
According to an update, a six-member team from the District Child Welfare Committee, Peren district, conducted the one-day programme focusing on legal and reporting mechanisms, child rights, and protection.
The event aimed to educate cadets about their rights and the importance of reporting sexual offences against any child.
All cadets and staff of the school attended the programme. The resource persons highlighted the Child Helpline number 1098, its roles, responsibilities, and services, as well as the consequences of sexual harassment, reporting mechanisms, and child rights protection.
The initiative sought to empower cadets with awareness to protect themselves and others from sexual offences.
