Assam Rifles inaugurated a library, held a debate and organised a medical camp across Nagaland.

DIMAPUR — Assam Rifles inaugurated a Library-cum-Tuition Centre at Noklak village, conducted a debate competition at Assam Rifles Public School, Jalukie, and organised a medical camp at Thongsonyu village.
According to an update, the Library-cum-Tuition Centre was constructed by 32 Assam Rifles under Operation Sadbhavana for the financial year 2025-26 with the aim of promoting education, enhancing learning opportunities and providing a conducive environment for students of the village.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by representatives of the Thang Students' Union, village authorities, community leaders, teachers, students and local residents.
Also, Assam Rifles conducted a debate competition for students of classes 9 and 10 at Assam Rifles Public School, Jalukie, in Peren district on August 4.
The debate was held on the topic "Bystander: Should a bystander actively stop bullying or remain silent?" with the aim of encouraging critical thinking, moral responsibility and public speaking skills among students. Participants presented arguments both for and against the motion.
The panel of judges evaluated participants on content, clarity, delivery and rebuttal skills and commended the students for their performance and perspectives on the issue.

In a separate initiative, Assam Rifles organised a medical camp at Thongsonyu village in Kiphire district to provide healthcare services to residents living in remote areas.
During the camp, the Assam Rifles medical team, led by Asst. Comdt. Pritam Das, Assam Rifles Medical Officer, conducted general health check-ups, diagnosed common ailments and distributed free medicines to villagers.
Das also conducted a health awareness session on personal hygiene, sanitation, preventive healthcare and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Special attention was given to elderly citizens, women and children to ensure they received medical consultation and necessary treatment.
