Assam Rifles honoured fallen heroes in Kohima and held a cleanliness and plogging drive in Medziphema.

DIMAPUR — The Assam Rifles conducted a wreath-laying ceremony in Kohima on Saturday to honour fallen heroes who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.
According to an update, the ceremony paid tribute to Rifleman (General Duty) Late Ashok Saikia, Rifleman (General Duty) Late Bharat Singh, and Rifleman (General Duty) Late Surendra Kumar.
A total of 165 personnel attended the ceremony.
Also, as part of the ongoing “Fit India Freedom Run 6.0” and on the theme “Swachh Bharat, Swasth Bharat”, the Assam Rifles organised a plogging drive at Medziphema in Chümoukedima on Saturday.

Assam Rifles conducts community events across Nagaland
The event aimed to promote fitness and environmental cleanliness among troops. Two officers, twelve JCOs, and eighty other ranks of the Assam Rifles participated in the drive, which combined jogging with the collection of plastic waste and litter from garrison areas.
The initiative emphasised the importance of maintaining clean surroundings for a healthy lifestyle, aligning with the national vision of a fit and clean India.
