
Personnel of Assam Rifles lay a wreath in honour of Rifleman
(General Duty) Jaman Singh during the wreath-laying ceremony at the Unit War
Memorial in Kohima on Sunday.
- DIMAPUR — Assam Rifles organised a
wreath-laying ceremony at the Unit War Memorial in Kohima on Sunday.
- According to an update, it was held to remember and honour
the fallen hero, Rifleman (General Duty) , who made the supreme
sacrifice on April 27, 1961, at Zangkham, Mon district, in a firefight with
insurgents.
- It said that 158 personnel paid tribute to the gallant
soldier who made the supreme sacrifice battling against insurgents in the line
of duty. On the occasion, the Assam Rifles spoke to the family of the
braveheart and conveyed their gratefulness to the family of the fallen hero.
