Assam Rifles review regional security and vaccinate 41 children during a polio drive in Kohima.

DIMAPUR — The Assam Rifles convened a Quarterly Operational Group Meeting at Lekhapani in Assam on June 27 and conducted a Pulse Polio Immunisation Drive at the Garrison Hospital in Kohima on Sunday.
According to a press release, the Quarterly Operational Group Meeting was held under the aegis of the Spear Corps and the Directorate General of Assam Rifles.
The meeting brought together senior representatives from the Indian Army, Assam Rifles, state police, and intelligence agencies to undertake a review of the prevailing security situation and to reinforce inter-agency coordination across upper Assam, south Arunachal Pradesh, and adjoining areas of Nagaland.
The meeting was attended by formation commanders of the Assam Rifles, Army representatives from upper Assam, and senior police officials from the respective states.

Deliberations focused on the assessment of ground intelligence, enhancement of real-time information sharing, and alignment of operational priorities. Discussions covered insurgent group activities, cross-border dynamics, and the need to strengthen surveillance and area domination in vulnerable pockets.
Additionally, in view of the upcoming Independence Day on August 15, vigilance was highlighted as a key priority. The meeting concluded with the reaffirmation of a cohesive joint operational framework, improved interoperability, and streamlined coordination protocols.
On Sunday, the Assam Rifles conducted a Pulse Polio Immunisation Drive at the Garrison Hospital in Kohima to support the Government of India's Universal Immunisation Programme.
A total of 41 children were administered the polio vaccine during the programme. The immunisation drive was carried out by the medical team of Garrison Hospital. Medical personnel also educated parents on the importance of completing the recommended immunisation schedule.
