Assam Rifles flags off Seema Darshan Tour for Rusoma school students and teachers to border areas.
KOHIMA — A Seema Darshan Tour 2026-27 for 20 students and two teachers of Government Higher Secondary School, Rusoma, Kohima, was officially flagged off by Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) Major General Harinder Singh Mavi on September 18 under the Op Sadbhavana for the financial year 2026-27.
The tour is being organised by Assam Rifles to provide regional youth with educational and experiential exposure. It will cover Guwahati, Tenga, Tawang, and Tezpur before the students return to Kohima on September 28.
Addressing the students at the flag-off ceremony, Mavi stated that the tour provides an opportunity for them to travel together as a group, learn from the experience, and observe progress beyond Nagaland.
Noting that as the next generation they will hold responsible positions, he expressed hope that the tour will enable them to see how they can contribute to transforming the state. He also encouraged the students to bring back ideas of what they aspire for the state to achieve.

During the tour, students will visit and experience various locations across the Northeast and border areas. The commander of 6 Sector Assam Rifles, along with officials of the Kohima Battalion, attended the ceremony. They stated that the initiative aims to broaden the horizons of students by exposing them to the country's cultural heritage, the strategic significance of border areas, and the contribution of the armed forces towards national security.
As part of the tour, the students will also interact with the general officer commanding of 5 Mountain Division, providing them an opportunity to gain insights into the role of the armed forces and the challenges involved in safeguarding the borders.
