DIMAPUR — Assam Rifles organised ‘A day with
company commander’ for students of Little Daffodils Higher Secondary School at
Doyapur on Tuesday.
- According to a press release, the event featured
recreational activities, a pipe band, a weapon display, and singing by
students.
- A total of 40 students and three teachers attended the
event, which was organised to foster a harmonious relationship between Assam
Rifles and the youth.
- Further, Assam Rifles organised a special yoga and
meditation session in a village in Ndunglwa, Peren, on Tuesday.
- The initiative reached 65 children, who were taught
foundational yoga asanas to improve flexibility and physical strength, as well
as breathing exercises and mindfulness techniques.
- Assam Rifles also distributed essential items to 83
villagers at Tenning, Peren, on May 27. The drive aimed to provide various
items, including clothes, monsoon supplies, and school stationery for children,
with the goal of uplifting the community.

- Meanwhile, Assam Rifles organised a friendly volleyball match
with residents of Pungro village, Kiphire district, on the theme “Ek Bharat
Shreshtha Bharat”. The event saw participation from Assam Rifles personnel,
local youths, and school children.
- It stated that the initiative provided a platform for
meaningful interaction between the armed forces and the local community,
strengthening the bond of trust and cooperation.
- After the match, an interactive session was held during
which both teams exchanged tokens of appreciation.
