DIMAPUR — Assam Rifles conducted an educational border tour for students from Rusoma and a cleanliness drive in Kiphire.
According to a defence release, Kohima Garrison of Assam Rifles conducted the flag-in ceremony of the Seema Darshan tour organised for 20 students and two teachers of Government Higher Secondary School, Rusoma village, Kohima district, under Operation Sadbhavana for the academic year 2026-27.
The tour, conducted from September 19 to the 28th, covered Kohima, Guwahati, Tenga, Tawang, Tezpur, and Dimapur, providing the students an opportunity to visit places of national, historical, and educational significance and gain first-hand exposure to the life and functioning of the armed forces.
During the tour, the students visited Tenga, Tawang, and Guwahati, where they interacted with the General Officer Commanding of 5 Mountain Division, visited the apple and kiwi orchards at Shergaon, Ball of Fire Museum, Tenga Hut and Sajini, Jaswant Museum, Tawang War Memorial, Bumla Pass, Sangetsar Tso, and Tawang Monastery.

The Deputy Inspector General of Assam Rifles (North) flagged in the contingent at Kohima Garrison and interacted with the students and teachers.
In Kiphire, Assam Rifles organised a cleanliness drive under the Swachh Bharat Mission - Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 in collaboration with students of New Saramati High School and members of the Kiphire Taxi Drivers Association.
A total of 70 students, three teachers, 30 members of the Kiphire Taxi Drivers Association, and 17 personnel of Assam Rifles participated in the cleanliness drive across the market area, school compound, and other public areas of Kiphire, collecting waste and improving the surroundings.
