Assam Rifles organised career counselling, skill development lectures, medical camps, and rallies across Nagaland.
DIMAPUR — Assam Rifles conducted a series of educational, career-guidance, awareness, and healthcare initiatives across multiple locations in Nagaland.
In Kohima, a guidance and counselling session was organised at Kohima Garrison in collaboration with Aakash Educational Services Limited (AESL).
According to an update, the session aimed to create awareness among the wards of Assam Rifles personnel and their parents about the educational benefits available under the recently signed Assam Rifles and AESL memorandum of understanding (MoU).
Representatives from AESL briefed the participants on the key provisions of the MoU, including coaching programmes for competitive examinations such as NEET, JEE, and foundation courses, admission procedures, scholarship opportunities, and concessional tuition fee benefits. The interactive session also addressed queries from students and parents.

A total of 47 families, 57 students, and eight teachers of Assam Rifles Public School, Kohima, participated in the session.
Additionally, as part of the inaugural programme of Skill Development Day, an official of the Kohima Battalion of Assam Rifles addressed the students of Government High School, PWD, Kohima, as the guest speaker.
The lecture highlighted the importance of skill development in shaping successful careers, fostering self-reliance, and preparing the youth to meet the challenges of an evolving world. The speaker noted that academic excellence, when complemented by vocational, technical, and practical skills, significantly enhances employability and career prospects.
In the Kiphire district, the Assam Rifles organised a lecture on the occasion of National Handloom Day at the Phelungre Women Society on August 7, aimed at community development, women's empowerment, and the promotion of the handloom heritage.
The programme witnessed participation by 25 local men and women, along with 17 personnel of Assam Rifles. The lecture highlighted the cultural, economic, and social significance of the handloom sector and encouraged the preservation of traditional weaving practices.
Also in Kiphire, Assam Rifles organised a painting competition at Little Flower Higher Secondary School, Pungro, on August 7, as part of the nationwide celebrations commemorating 150 years of Vande Mataram.
The themes for the competition were "Unity in diversity" and "My India". The event witnessed participation from 500 students who showcased their artistic talent through paintings depicting the country's cultural heritage.
In the Mokokchung district, Assam Rifles organised a free medical camp and dental check-up at Care and Support Children Home, Chungtia, on August 7 to provide essential healthcare services and promote health and hygiene.
During the camp, a total of 19 children, including seven girls and 12 boys, underwent medical examinations and received health consultations. Dental check-ups were also conducted to assess oral health and create awareness about dental hygiene. Free medicines and dental hygiene kits were provided to all the children.
In Tuensang, Assam Rifles conducted a Tiranga Rally on August 8 to commemorate 150 years of Vande Mataram and celebrate patriotism and national unity. The rally aimed to promote pride and respect for the national flag while creating awareness about the historical significance of Vande Mataram.
