DIMAPUR — The Assam Rifles conducted a series of activities, including a counselling session for families in Dimapur, a World Art Day celebration at Doyapur, and a wreath-laying ceremony for the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) in Kohima, between April 13 and the 16th.
In Dimapur, the Assam Rifles organised a counselling session for families under the Rubaru initiative.
According to a press release, the programme, themed “Mera wazood, suno meri awaaz”, was conducted by psychology counsellor Dr. Vandini Setia, who addressed the topic "Read my emotions".
A total of 32 families attended the session. It said that the interactive session with the psychological counsellor offered insights and support for maintaining family harmony and emotional well-being.
In a separate event, the Assam Rifles celebrated World Art Day with the students of Government Primary School, Doyapur, on Wednesday. The event aimed to nurture creativity, self-expression, and artistic talent among young learners while strengthening community engagement.

A total of 30 students from the school actively took part in the celebration. The programme included interactive art sessions, drawing and painting competitions, and demonstrations conducted by Assam Rifles personnel, encouraging children to explore their creativity through colours and ideas.
Students were guided on basic artistic techniques and motivated to express their thoughts and emotions through their artwork.
Meanwhile, the Assam Rifles extended assistance in the conduct of a wreath-laying ceremony organised as part of the annual general meeting of the Athletics Federation of India, held in Nagaland. The ceremony was held at the Commonwealth War Cemetery, Kohima.
