Assam Rifles celebrates Holi in Peren, hosts a penalty shoot-out in Tening, and conducts student outreach in Kohima.

DIMAPUR — The Assam Rifles conducted various activities across Nagaland, comprising celebrating Holi with children in Peren, organising a sports tournament in Tening, and hosting an outreach programme in Kohima.
In the Peren district, the Assam Rifles organised a Holi celebration with the children of Zeme Orphanage Home.
The event was conducted with the aim of spreading joy, strengthening bonds with the local community, and ensuring that the children of the orphanage experienced the warmth and happiness of the festival.
Personnel of the Assam Rifles joined the children in the celebration. According to a press release, the force made special efforts to celebrate Holi with them so that the children could feel loved, cared for, and included in the festivities.

In Tening, the men's department of Liangmai Baptist Church, Aruang, in collaboration with the Assam Rifles, organised an open penalty shoot-out tournament for both men and women at the Tening local ground on March 4 and 5.
The event witnessed the participation of more than 80 teams. The Assam Rifles personnel extended support in organising and coordinating the event.
In Kohima, the Assam Rifles organised an outreach programme titled “A day with the company commander” at Councillor Hill, on the theme “Our children, our pride, our nation’s strength”.
A total of 160 students from different schools in Kohima participated in the programme.
The company commander interacted with the students, sharing information about the armed forces and encouraging them to consider a future in uniformed service. The programme included sports activities, interactive games, and an exposure to the spirit of Holi.
As part of a large-scale nationwide commemoration marking 150 years, the song “Vande Mataram” was played.
