DIMAPUR — As part of its continued efforts towards promoting health and wellness among the youth, Assam Rifles on Monday organised a special yoga awareness and practice session with school children ahead of International Day of Yoga.
The event, held at Pungro town in Kiphire district, aimed at educating young minds about the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits of yoga, a defence release stated.
Trained personnel from Assam Rifles explained the significance of incorporating yoga into daily life, especially for students, to help manage stress, improve concentration, and build overall physical resilience.
Following the awareness session, a collective yoga demonstration was conducted, wherein Assam Rifles personnel performed various asanas alongside school children.

The active participation of students made the session highly interactive and impactful.
“The initiative was well received by the school administration and local community, who appreciated the Assam Rifles for their efforts in spreading awareness about traditional Indian wellness practices and fostering a healthier lifestyle among the youth.
“Assam Rifles continues to remain committed to the cause of community engagement and nation building through such constructive outreach programmes,” the release stated.
