
- DIMAPUR — In a
landmark collaboration, Apollo Excelcare Hospital, Guwahati, in association
with the Nagaland Private Doctors’ Association (NPDA), organised a
multispecialty continuing medical education (CME) programme at Zone Niathu
Resort in Chümoukedima on Saturday.
- An update from Apollo Excelcare stated that the event
brought together some of the most prominent names in healthcare from the
region, creating a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange, clinical insights
and professional networking.
- It stated that over 120 doctors participated in the event
and the Nagaland Medical Council awarded 3 and 4 CME credit hours for delegates
and speakers respectively.

- “This one-of-a-kind CME was attended by leading doctors from
across Nagaland and it served as a vital bridge connecting Apollo Excelcare
Hospital’s advanced medical expertise with the dedicated medical professionals
of Nagaland. The initiative was widely lauded by NPDA, who appreciated the
hospital’s commitment to sharing knowledge and building long-term partnerships
in the region,” the statement read.
- The CME featured sessions from some of Apollo Excelcare
Hospital’s most distinguished consultants including Dr. Neil Bardoloi (director
and head of cardiology), Dr. Manuj Kumar Saikia (senior cardiac surgeon), Dr.
Karan Saraf (senior nephrologist and transplant physician), Dr. Kiran
Kamalasanan (surgical oncologist), Dr. Adil Hassan (medical cncologist), Dr.
Abhijit Phukan (hematology and hemato-oncology), Dr. Bibhash Bhagawati
(anesthesia and pain management) and Dr. Abhay Agarwal (orthopedic surgeon and
sports medicine).
- Topics covered included advanced cardiology and cardiac
surgery, renal transplantation, cancer care, hematology, chronic pain
management, sports injuries and more—bringing cutting-edge expertise directly
to the medical community of Nagaland.

physicians could engage directly with Apollo’s specialists, exchanging
perspectives on challenging cases, best practices and innovations in their
respective fields,” said Dr. Lima Imchen, president of NPDA.
- Speaking at the event, Dr. Mhasiseno T Belho, general
secretary of NPDA, acknowledged Apollo Excelcare Hospital’s efforts and
expressed gratitude for organising a CME of such scale and quality. She
emphasised how such educational platforms not only benefit individual
practitioners but also uplift the standard of healthcare delivery across
Nagaland.
