- MOKOKCHUNG — The
Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) has decided to undertake renewal and registration
drive for non-Nagas residing in Mokokchung district to update their Inner Line
Permit (ILP) and AKM census card.
- The exercise is scheduled from May 20 to the 23rd at AKM
conference hall between 10 am and 5 pm. The effort has been initiated to
regulate residency and safeguard Naga cultural identity.
- In a statement issued on Saturday, AKM urged all ward
chairmen, village councils, employers and guarantors to ensure that all
non-Nagas within their jurisdictions complete the registration process within
the stipulated period.

- Highlighting the broader implications, AKM emphasised that
“The infiltration of illegal immigrants poses an imminent threat to the indigenous
inhabitants of Nagaland and the cultural preservation and identity of Nagas as
a whole.”
- AKM has sought continued cooperation from the district
administration and support from Mokokchung’s citizens to address the challenge.
- The required documents for renewal or registration includes
Inner Line Permit (ILP), AKM census card, guarantor, no objection certificate
(NOC) from the ward or village council chairman, detailing the house owner’s
name, house number, tenant’s name and the ward/sector seal and signature of the
competent authority.
