Ao Senden has rejected the reasons by the Health and Family Welfare department in its reply to the organisation’s ultimatum regarding specialist demand at Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital
DIMAPUR — The Ao Senden has rejected the reasons stated by the Health and Family Welfare department in its reply to the organisation’s ultimatum, demanding that a Radiodiagnosis Specialist be posted at Imkongliba Memorial District Hospital (IMDH), Mokokchung.
In a letter dated October 17 addressed to the Principal Director of the Directorate of Health and Family Welfare, through the Chief Medical Officer of Mokokchung, the Ao Senden rejected the department’s reply “in toto”, stating that it would take its own course of action from October 21, 2026.
The Ao Senden said that although the Senior Specialist Radiologist had been transferred from IMDH to District Hospital (DH) Phek and a Junior Specialist Radiologist transferred to IMDH through a notification dated August 19, 2026, the senior specialist was subsequently released from IMDH following a directive from the department dated September 7, 2026. The organisation said it had earlier requested that the senior specialist not be released until a replacement joined IMDH.

It stated that a sonologist was not what it had demanded and that “nothing short of a Radiodiagnosis Specialist will be accepted at IMDH”.
The Ao Senden further said that not a single demand in its ultimatum, issued on September 16, had been met. It accused the department of adopting an “attitude of theatre of superiority instead of service to the needy” and said this was contrary to the department’s aim of serving the needy in health.
The organisation warned that the department would be held solely responsible for any untoward incident that might occur during its course of action from October 21.
