Ao organisations reaffirm support for Ao Senden resolution and call for an early, honourable Naga political settlement.

DIMAPUR — Representatives of Ao civil society and youth organisations from Dimapur, Chümoukedima, Niuland, Medziphema, Diphupar, Foothill and Aoyim have reaffirmed their support for the resolution adopted by Ao Senden concerning the retraction of statements made by NSCN (IM) leaders VS Atem and RH Raising.
The decision was taken at a solidarity meeting with veteran Naga leader Dr. SC Jamir at his farmhouse in Chümoukedima on Friday. The meeting was organised by the Ao Youth Organisation, Chümoukedima, and attended by representatives of various Ao Senso Telongjems and youth bodies.
The gathering also appealed to all stakeholders in the Naga peace process, particularly the Government of India, to facilitate an early, permanent, honourable and inclusive settlement of the long-pending Naga political issue to ensure lasting peace and stability.
Participants echoed the Ao Senden leadership’s call for Naga leaders and the public to uphold discipline, fortitude, humility and wisdom while working towards unity and mutual respect.
The meeting also resolved to remain vigilant and reserved the right to take appropriate action should circumstances require.
The house further endorsed the initiative spearheaded by the Naga Youth Front, which seeks an early, honourable and acceptable solution to the Naga political issue, which continues to affect the lives and aspirations of the Naga people.

In another resolution, the meeting decided that the formal launch of the Western Ao Youth Movement would include Ao youth from Dimapur, Chümoukedima and Niuland districts to strengthen unity and coordination among Ao youth organisations in the region.
The gathering jointly reaffirmed the importance of unity, discipline and collective responsibility in addressing issues affecting the Ao community and the wider Naga society.
The joint resolution was adopted by Ao Senso Telongjem, Chümoukedima; Ao Senso Telongjem, Dimapur; Dimapur Ao Youth Organisation; Ao Youth Organisation, Chümoukedima; Aoyim Youth Organisation; Diphupar Ao Youth Organisation; Foothill Ao Youth Organisation; and Medziphema Ao Youth Organisation.
