SASU urges Nagaland government to order an independent, time-bound inquiry into allegations against Kiphire Deputy Commissioner Temsuwati Longkumer
DIMAPUR — The Seyochung Area Students’ Union (SASU) has urged Nagaland government to constitute an independent, high-level inquiry committee into allegations concerning Deputy Commissioner of Kiphire, Temsuwati Longkumer.
In a representation to the commissioner of Nagaland dated October 6, the union called for an impartial, transparent and time-bound inquiry into the grievances raised against the officer.
It stated that the nature and seriousness of the issues raised warranted an independent inquiry, arguing that leaving the matter unresolved could have implications for administrative accountability and public confidence.
It urged the state government to initiate the inquiry without further delay and take appropriate administrative or disciplinary action in accordance with the law and service rules if the allegations were substantiated.
The union stressed that its demand was made in the public interest and did not prejudge the guilt or innocence of the officer.
