St. John School in Kiusam kicks off its annual sports event, promoting discipline, teamwork, and overall youth development.

DIMAPUR — The inaugural programme of the annual sports event of St. John School, Kiusam, was held on Tuesday.
The ceremony was attended by Kevilhoukho Rio from North East Contractor (NEC), Nagaland, who served as the chief guest. He was accompanied by special guests Neibulie Rio and Tsemy Tep, an engineer from NEC.
The gathering included Philip Magh, Principal of Loyola Higher Secondary School, Kiphire; Marius Patton, Vice Principal of Loyola Higher Secondary School; Lucy; Simon Anar; alongside various public leaders, pastors, parents, and other invited guests, stated an update.

In his inaugural address, Rio underscored the importance of sportsmanship, highlighting the values of teamwork, focus, and excellence. He urged students to cultivate discipline and develop their skills, pointing out the significant contributions of sports and games to both mental and physical well-being.
He further encouraged the students to identify their talents and pursue excellence in their chosen endeavours.
The event featured a prayer dance, a welcome song, and the unfurling of the school flag. The programme also included a drill display, cultural dances, and a special performance by the nursery students.
Following the oath-taking ceremony, the chief guest officially declared the annual games and sports open.
