DIMAPUR — Baptist School Botsa conducted its 41st annual sports meet, bringing together students, faculty, alumni, and well-wishers.
According to a press release, the event was attended by special guest Neingutuo Rio, proprietor of NR Enterprises and a government-registered class I contractor as well as an alumnus of the institution from the class of 1995.
In his speech, he expressed gratitude to his alma mater, recalling his formative years at the school and acknowledging its role in shaping his life and aspirations.
Highlighting the theme of this year’s sports meet, “Excellence in motion", Rio stated that excellence is a continuous journey requiring discipline, perseverance, and courage. He noted that sports play a vital role beyond competition, fostering teamwork, resilience, and character among students.

Addressing the evolving landscape of sports, he remarked that sports today have grown into a dynamic global industry, offering diverse career opportunities ranging from professional athletics to coaching, sports management, physiotherapy, analytics, journalism, and entrepreneurship.
He also acknowledged the growing support for sports development in Nagaland under the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, who is also the president of the Nagaland Olympic Association.
Encouraging the students, the special guest urged them to nurture their talents and pursue their passions with determination, reminding them that failure is often a stepping stone to success. He further called upon parents and teachers to continue supporting the holistic development of children, stressing that education must go beyond academics to nurture the body, mind, and spirit.
Further, the special guest gave his assurance of constructing a rostrum for the school.
