Angami Krotho Delhi marks the 37th Sekrenyi Festival at Nagaland House, New Delhi.

DIMAPUR — The Angami Krotho Delhi (AKD) celebrated its 37th Sekrenyi Festival on February 28 at the Nagaland House, APJ Abdul Kalam Road, New Delhi.
In a press release, the AKD stated that after the Sekrenyi programme, an open Kene (traditional Naga wrestling) was also held, marking its fifth iteration.
The event drew a crowd of over 350 people, comprising of the Angami population living in Delhi NCR, members of various Naga tribes and friends from different parts of the country.
The formal programme began with an invocation by Rev. Dr. Noulezhalie Ricky Medom of NCF Delhi.
This was followed by AKD president Pelhu Dolie, who welcomed the attendees. In his speech, he stressed the need for community and for Angami individuals living in Delhi and NCR to register with the krotho by reaching out to any executive or through Angami bodies back home.

The event witnessed musical performances by the AKD seniors, elders, and executives and also by Denoto John and company.
Pastor Ruokuowhelie Pienyü of Upper Naga Bazaar Baptist Church, Kohima, delivered the exhortation, where he encouraged the young individuals who have recently arrived in Delhi to be faithful in prayer and to be centred with their culture.
In the vote of thanks, AKD general secretary Neingumezo Khrodi expressed gratefulness to the Nagaland House and the staff for their continued support, and also to various donors who made the event possible.
The open kene competition saw participants from Angami, Chakhesang, and Poumai tribes.
The prizes were sponsored by the Angami Sports Association and the Dzükou Valley Management. The wrestlers showcased strong competitive spirit and respect for one another.
A Veytelou from the Poumai tribe emerged as the champion, while Sheluhu Khesoh and Shedekho Hoshi from the Chakhesang tribe won the second and third prizes respectively, followed by Vishezotuo Yano from the Angami tribe in the fourth position.
In addition to the initial prizes sponsored by ASA and Dzükou Valley Management, Dr. Hentok Phom and Hutovi donated INR 5,000 each to encourage the wrestlers.
