The All Zeliangrong Students' Union held its first dimki session and executive induction at Hangrum village, Assam.
DIMAPUR — The first dimki session of the All Zeliangrong Students' Union (AZSU) and the induction programme for its newly elected executive council for the 2026–2029 tenure were held at Hangrum village, Dima Hasao district in Assam, on July 24.
According to a press release, during the induction, the newly elected executives pledged to uphold the constitution of the AZSU, serve with integrity and transparency, and work for the welfare, rights, and aspirations of the Zeliangrong student community.
The Dimki Session deliberated on several important matters concerning the community. A major focus of the discussion was the urgent need to strengthen the unity and collective identity of the Zeliangrong people.
Members unanimously highlighted that lasting progress can only be achieved through mutual respect, cooperation, and solidarity among all Zeliangrong organisations and individuals. The house resolved to work towards fostering stronger unity and promoting the common interests of the community.

The house also expressed deep concern over the ongoing humanitarian challenges arising from the Manipur crisis. Members conveyed their heartfelt sympathy and solidarity to all the affected families who have suffered immense loss and hardship.
The session acknowledged the pain and sacrifices endured by the victims and reaffirmed the commitment of the AZSU to stand with them during these difficult times. The union resolved to continue advocating for peace, justice, security, and the protection of the rights and dignity of all affected people.
The newly elected President, Haiheube Kuame, called upon every member to work collectively with sincerity, discipline, and dedication to strengthen the organisation and safeguard the interests of the Zeliangrong student community.
The executive council comprises Haiheube as president, Phensongwi as vice president, Liangkiudinbo as general secretary, Jonah Thaimei as assistant general secretary, Izaile Zeme as finance secretary, Kiselunle Z as women secretary, Prince Zeme as games and sports secretary, Haichidui Khate as public relations secretary, Akangbe as treasurer, and Joy Kamei as auditor.
