DIMAPUR — The All Sumi Students’ Union (SKK) has expressed concern over the prolonged absence of several heads of departments (HoDs) and government officers from their postings in Zunheboto district.
In a press release on Sunday, the union stressed that timely and efficient governance is essential for the district’s development and the delivery of public services.
The SKK demanded that all government officers and HoDs ensure their presence in the district immediately, describing it as a “mandate from the people” rather than a request.
The union also urged officers to prioritise their duties, adhere to their postings, and work collectively to address citizens’ needs.
The SKK warned that it will carry out periodic inspections of government offices, with the findings made public and submitted to the relevant authorities to take “stringent measures” against non-compliant officials.
The union said the move aims to ensure accountability and reinforce dedication among public servants in Zunheboto district.
