DIMAPUR — Calling for immediate intervention, the All Nagaland School Teachers’ Association (ANSTA) has urged Nagaland government to take decisive steps to resolve the long-pending issue of regularisation of ad hoc teachers under All Nagaland Ad hoc Teachers’ Group (ANATG).
In a representation submitted to the commissioner and secretary of School Education, the association stated that repeated delays in addressing the issue have caused prolonged uncertainty and distress among affected teachers, despite several rounds of representations and discussions with the government over the years.
It reminded that many ad hoc teachers have been serving the department for more than a decade, often under difficult conditions and without adequate service security or financial stability.

According to the ANSTA, the constitution of a High Powered Committee (HPC) following earlier agitations had raised expectations of a fair and transparent resolution, but no concrete outcome has emerged so far.
It maintained that the present situation was not the result of impatience or unreasonable demands by teachers, but due to the government’s lack of visible urgency in addressing a long-recognised and well-documented issue.
Stating that it cannot remain a silent spectator while a significant section of the teaching community is repeatedly pushed to agitation, the ANSTA asserted that such situations are avoidable and not in the interest of students, teachers or the administration.
It urged the government to take an immediate policy decision on the regularisation of ANATG members and announce a clear timeline for implementation.
