KIPHIRE — Ivan D’Souza, All India Congress Committee (AICC) observer and member of the Karnataka Legislative Council, visited Kiphire and Noklak districts on February 20 and 21.
He was accompanied by Thomas, Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) observer and spokesperson of the Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC).
During his visit, D’Souza stated that he came to Nagaland with a clear direction from the AICC under the “Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan", as decided in the Congress Working Committee meeting held in Ahmedabad.
The main aim of the programme is to reach out to grassroots Congress workers, listen to their opinions, and reorganise and strengthen district committees.
He met district office bearers, PCC members, working committee members, and booth-level workers in both the Noklak and Kiphire districts. He took their suggestions on how to strengthen the party and bring it back to power in Nagaland.

Party workers shared that the organisation must be strengthened at every level and that adequate resources are needed. They also suggested that senior leaders should regularly visit block and district levels to encourage and motivate workers. Many recommended that the present District Congress Committee (DCC) presidents, who are sincerely working, should be reappointed.
D’Souza also met the NPCC president and the Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) to seek their guidance on reorganising the party structure in other districts. He said he has collected all the necessary information and will submit a detailed report to the AICC for further action.
He further shared that the “Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan” has been successfully carried out in states like Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Delhi, where many new and future leaders have been identified.
During his Nagaland visit, he also identified several potential leaders who can strengthen the party in the coming days.
He thanked Thomas for guiding and coordinating the visit smoothly and expressed gratitude to the Karnataka PCC for their support.
