KOHIMA — The Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) and NSCN/GPRN (K) Khango on Tuesday resolved their differences amicably “in the spirit of forgiveness and reconciliation.”
The settlement was announced after a meeting held between the two parties in Kohima.
According to a ‘letter of reconciliation’ signed by AYO president Kesosul Christopher Ltu and Kilo Kilonser of NSCN/GPRN (K) Khango, Viniho Kiho, the resolution was reached after deliberations on the August 20, 2024 agreement between the two sides and consideration of a letter issued by the office of Commander, Western Command, N/A, dated December 15, 2025, responding to Point No. 3 of the agreement.
The letter of reconciliation was made available to the media during a joint press conference held after the meeting.
Providing the background, Christopher said that the two parties had been in a state of non-cooperation following an incident involving a contractor from the Angami community. He recalled that on August 20, 2024, the two parties had issued a joint statement comprising four resolutions.

While Points 1, 2 and 4 were implemented in letter and spirit, Point No. 3 could not be upheld by the NSCN/GPRN (K) Khango within the stipulated time, prompting the AYO to declare non-cooperation after 15 days, he said.
Point No. 3 of the agreement stated that NSCN/GPRN (K) Khango would make public the identity of the person alias “Max Naga” and initiate appropriate disciplinary action within 15 days, following which the AYO would withdraw its non-cooperation and recall Angami workers.
Christopher said that during Tuesday’s meeting, a five-member delegation from NSCN/GPRN (K) Khango and eleven AYO members held detailed discussions and arrived at the reconciliation.
He added that the AYO has officially received a letter from the group containing details of the person concerned, whose name will be made public through local media in the coming days.
He further informed that after consulting its frontal organisations, the AYO decided to reopen cooperation with the group wherever required, while requesting that the interests and welfare of the Angami people be protected and promoted.
Meanwhile, Kilo Kilonser Viniho Kiho said that the August 20, 2024 agreement had been facilitated by the Ceasefire Monitoring Board chairman.
Admitting failure to honour the agreement earlier, he said that communication gaps and technical difficulties delayed compliance.
“Today, all ranks and files of the NSCN/GPRN (K) Khango have amicably accepted Point No. 3,” he said, adding that disciplinary action has been decided and the identity of the person has been disclosed as demanded by the AYO.
