DIMAPUR — Aakash Educational Services Limited (AESL) has entered into a MoU with the Indian Army to extend educational support and welfare benefits to Army personnel and their families.
The agreement aims to facilitate access to quality coaching and academic resources for soldiers and their dependents.
Addressing a press conference at its Dimapur centre on April 23, AESL said the initiative will cover serving personnel, veterans, gallantry awardees, disabled soldiers and families of those who died in service.
AESL was represented by head PR and Communication Varun Soni, Syed Zishan Hussai (Academic) and AESL Dimapur branch head Tripurari Singh.

Speaking at the event, Dimapur branch head Singh said the initiative is a tribute to the sacrifices of defence personnel.
He noted that while AESL already offers scholarships to the general public through its entrance-based programmes, the MoU creates exclusive benefits for defence families.
“This is a small gesture from our side to honour those who dedicate their lives to the nation”, he said and added that there is no limit on the number of beneficiaries under the scheme.
Under the MoU, AESL will offer scholarships and academic support to eligible students enrolling in its courses across India.
Key provisions include a 100% waiver on tuition and other fees, excluding registration, for wards of personnel who died in service.
Wards of personnel with more than 20% disability and gallantry awardees will receive full tuition waivers.
Children of serving and retired Army personnel will be eligible for a 20% tuition fee concession after adjusting existing scholarships.
The agreement aims to benefit serving personnel, veterans, gallantry awardees, disabled soldiers, and families of those who lost their lives in service.
The agreement was formally signed between representatives of the Indian Army and AESL’s academic leadership in Delhi last month.
According to Singh, AESL’s partnerships extend beyond the Army to the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security Force (BSF), and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and are in discussions with additional agencies such as the CISF.
As part of the initiative, AESL will provide mentoring and counselling to students, addressing academic and career-related queries through online and offline platforms.
AESL currently operates a centre in Dimapur and runs integrated school programmes at Delhi Public School in Dimapur and Model Higher Secondary School in Kohima.
A leading coaching provider for NEET and JEE, AESL has over 415 centres across India and more than 400,000 students enrolled.
