Nagaland Advisor Mhathung Yanthan highlighted the state’s AgriStack and Farmer ID progress and urged tailored support for the Northeast’s unique agricultural challenges.

DIMAPUR — Nagaland Advisor for Agriculture Mhathung Yanthan highlighted the state’s progress in AgriStack and Farmer ID, as well as its unique agricultural challenges, at a national conference on AgriStack under the Digital Agriculture Mission and the Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses in New Delhi on August 22.
The conference was attended by Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan, ministers and senior officials from the Union and state governments.
According to an update, Yanthan outlined challenges faced by Nagaland due to its difficult terrain, traditional landholding systems, shifting cultivation practices and the absence of comprehensive land records.
He also highlighted Nagaland’s priorities, including pulse seed security, promotion of region-specific crops, rice-fallow and zaid cultivation, and strengthening market linkages.
