WOKHA — Advisor for Agriculture Mhathung Yanthan inaugurated the newly constructed Primary Health Centre (PHC) building at Old Aree Village in Wokha district on Friday 15 during his official constituency tour to Sungro range.
The new PHC building was constructed under the Local Area Development Programme (LADP).
Addressing the gathering, the advisor said that as Aree is a remote and aspirational village, he felt the need for a proper healthcare facility, which led to the initiative being undertaken under LADP.
Yanthan urged villagers to actively interact with officials, clarify doubts, and enquire about schemes that could benefit them.
He encouraged the public to make use of the opportunity, stating that there could be no better time as all departments were present in the village through the initiative.

The advisor further encouraged villagers to remain curious, ask questions, and avail benefits from various government schemes to improve livelihoods and ensure sustainability.
Yanthan noted that many villagers remain unaware of several welfare schemes, which was one of the key reasons behind organising the programme.
The inauguration programme was followed by a general meeting and review of the implementation of various government schemes and programmes. Heads of departments from different sectors attended the meeting with the aim of bridging the gap between government agencies and the public.
The dedication prayer for the new PHC building was pronounced by Pastor W Kikon of Old Aree Baptist Church.
Reports stated that the old PHC building had fallen into a dilapidated condition and was functioning from a temporary location prior to the construction of the new facility.
The new building was constructed by Ngaza Buildcon Private Limited.
During his visit, Yanthan also interacted with teachers and students at Government Middle School Aree Old Village.
He distributed gifts to teachers and students and provided kitchen materials for school use.
